WALK ON - THE ROAD TO NUMBER TWENTY, 2024/25

We are very pleased and proud to be allowed to launch James Pearce's book about the road to the league title last season. This will be done at Carls in Oslo on November 17th with the author himself on stage together with Sammy Lee. Reidar Buskenes is the host of the evening and the music is served by Liverpool's new rising star, Harry Fazakerley! Tonight's quiz master is The Liverpool Festival's Jaran Pedersen

"Walk On" is the book that comes closest to what really happened when Liverpool surprisingly won the league title last season. It is filled with exclusive interviews and takes a look inside both the dressing room and the boardroom. It is simply a captivating and very interesting story about a new, and for many, unknown manager's path to the top, with a team that had not initially brought in reinforcements ahead of a new season.

"Walk on" provides a detailed account of Slot and the club's journey, with tactical analysis and honest player stories through Pearce's unique access to the inner life of the club. How Slot managed to make Liverpool Premier League champions, how he overcame adversity, personal challenges and rival managers along the way. There's only one way to find out. Join us inside Liverpool FC, at Carl's on Monday 17 November! ....and you can buy and sign the book for a price well below what it will cost when it becomes available in the country's bookshops. There will also be a meet and greet as well as a quiz with great prizes!

THESE ARE ON THE SCENE

James Pearce is a journalist at The Athletic and has been closely following Liverpool FC for a number of years. He is on the inside of the club – from the dressing room to the boardroom! With over 20 years of experience covering Liverpool FC, including 14 years at the Liverpool Echo, he is considered one of the most trusted sources of news and insight around the club.

Sammy Lee was part of what we must call the glory days of Liverpool. Along with legends like Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Alan Hansen and Jan Mølby and (many) more, he showed what the level must be if you are to become a legend. Throughout his eight years in red, he brought home league titles and other silverware on a scale that few can dream of. He has five league championships, several British cup titles and two European Cup trophies with Liverpool on his CV. He was capped 14 times for England and has also made his mark on the scoring charts there.

The music is provided by Harry Fazakerley , a regular musician at The Halfway House, the pub where Jamie Webster started his musical journey. The youngster is described as one of the biggest musical talents in Liverpool and is predicted to have a bright future on stage. He is of course a die hard Liverpool supporter and will be doing his first gig outside England when he comes to Carls!

Tonight's host is Reidar Buskenes . The guy is a die hard Liverpool supporter and for most of us known from Norway's longest-running LFC podcast, You'll Never Talk Alone, or the YNTA podcast as most people refer to it as. Reidar also has a long career as a program host on P4, has hosted "God Morgen Norge" on TV2, has been Lotto general on NrK and has a pretty nice side job as a DJ at Ullevål, during Norway's international matches.
