Got his first guitar at the age of four
Marc Kenny got his first guitar at the age of four and he learned to read and write music before he was nine. With a career spanning several decades, he has covered most genres of music and has a formidable catalogue of songs. He is not only a highly profiled and versatile singer, songwriter and guitarist from Liverpool, he has also become an institution in the city's rich and vibrant music scene. He is not only a die-hard Liverpool supporter, but is also considered by many to be the Godfather of all the musicians who play supporter songs around pubs and supporter events in Liverpool. And he is behind many of the songs you sing along to!
It is about the creator of supporter songs that have gone around the world and become part of Liverpool's modern fan culture. We mention songs like "Si Señor", "Egyptian King", "Alisson Becker" and "I'm So Glad (That Jürgen is a Red)". Songs that have collectively had over 30 million views on YouTube, and the song "Egyptian King" climbed to number one in Egypt. He also had a hand in the music for "We got Salah" that Irish stand-up comedian Richy Sheehy (aka Kevin Murphy) went viral with in 2018.
The guy is currently a regular fixture at Sandon to whip up the atmosphere before home games. He has also previously played both during pre-season tours with LFC and at major supporter events around the world. Now we are finally getting him to the Liverpool Festival. Here he will perform both on the festival grounds and during the Supporter Dinner .
1,500 times at the Cavern Club
Marc Kenny has also released his own albums and songs outside the LFC sphere, and has topped the British dance charts. He also runs his own record label where he produces, writes and records songs both for himself and for others. Over the years, music has taken him to many corners of the world and during a long stay in China he wrote "What's it like in Liverpool", a song about longing for the city where he was born and raised. The song and music video went viral and won recognition at the Liverpool International Film Festival. He can also boast over 1,500 performances at the Cavern Club

Today, Marc Kenny is not only seen on stage as a popular acoustic solo artist or band musician, during concerts and festivals, he is also a presenter on the radio station In Demand , where he weekly highlights and gives airtime to new, independent talents from the Liverpool region.
