HAVE WE JINXED IT?

If it's our fault that we don't win the league this year, then we'll take the consequences!

We proved you wrong!

At the time of writing (March 19 – editor’s note) things are looking pretty bright for the league title. We are a comfortable 12 points behind second-placed Arsenal. In addition, we have an all-right goal difference which could mean we have an extra point there too. Most so-called football experts have already awarded us the league title and among supporters of other teams there is some reluctant nodding when we ask if we are the ones who will pick up the trophy this year.

The reluctance is probably primarily due to the fact that it is quite annoying that we have delivered far beyond expectations this year and that the vast majority of these incredulous supporters had intended to enjoy a Liverpool that would be hovering around mid-table. We had got a new manager, and managers need time. Not only got a new manager, but also one who was unlikely to last long in the Premier League. He had a background from a league that, in terms of sport, is on par with Sunday League football in England. Well, we f… proved you wrong!

Then there was the jinxing!

So we have to talk a little about this jinxing that some voices on social media believe we are engaging in. The thing is that we have already launched both t-shirts and scarves that will pay tribute to Liverpool, CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND. We understand that it can stress even the most optimistic supporter but at the same time we do not believe that it will be the reason that Liverpool would for some reason stumble at the end and give away the most valuable trophy of them all to a club from London. If that is the reason then we will take the consequences of it, more about that further down in the article.

The reluctance is probably primarily due to the fact that it is quite annoying that we have delivered far beyond expectations this year and that the vast majority of these incredulous supporters had intended to enjoy a Liverpool that would be hovering around mid-table.

We have sold a triple-digit number of t-shirts and scarves so far, so that means there are more people than us who believe this is going to work. Either they are naive, doing creative math exercises, or they have done a good analysis from the corner of the sofa and concluded that we will be league champions. We don't really think it's about any of that, we think it's about common sense. If you scroll past the image below, we will present the calculation that convinced us in any case, seasoned with a good dose of common sense!

The math

There are 9 games left, and 27 points in the pot. Five of the games will be played at home and one of these is against Arsenal, so a six-point game. Arsenal have to pick up 12, maybe 13, points more than us in the last games. If we win, for example, three of the last games and get a draw, we end up with 80 points. Arsenal then have to win seven games and play a draw, then they are on 80 points and maybe have a better goal difference than us. Do you think it is possible? Of course it is possible, but it is unlikely. They may win seven games, but Liverpool will not lose 5 games!

This must have consequences!

So if the fact that we have felt a lot of, overly, positive thoughts and have become convinced that Liverpool will win the league can actually ruin the whole thing, then we will take the consequences of that. It is not only that we will refund the money to everyone who has ordered CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND clothes from us but we will also rag the guy (Jaran Pedersen - editor's note) who has started the sale. In addition, he will be allowed to crawl across the festival area, wearing only a Manchester United shirt and thong, to the ridicule and amusement of all the festival participants. Here there will be an opportunity to abuse the guy both verbally and physically. (e.g. slap and death by prick) After all, he jinxed the league title!

CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND

If you are not convinced but need to actually see with your own eyes that Liverpool will lift the trophy, then you can really just sit back and wait in anticipation. If you are more or less convinced that it will go your way this season, then order one of our CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND products. For now, only t-shirts and scarves are available for order. Nothing is delivered until everything is ready and should the unthinkable happen, you will get your money back.

Skarru at a festival?

The program is pretty much set and most of the artists and legends are booked. We hope to see you in Gjøvik this summer!
