5 years old, childlike enthusiasm and emerging maturity!

We are turning five this year and we are quite proud of that, even though we are really just like any other five-year-old!

Turning five years old as a festival may not be very impressive, but have you ever thought about how a five-year-old develops from their first attempts at crabbing to one day running quite fast on fairly steady legs? Our festival has had the same development, so it's natural to take a closer look and see what else we have in common with a five-year-old boy or girl.

There is something very special about the age of 5. That is when the great personality traits really take hold, curiosity is boundless, and you suddenly feel very big. When the Liverpool Festival in Gjøvik turns five in 2026, it will be with exactly the same mix of childlike enthusiasm and emerging maturity.

The need for community and emotions outside of the suit

At the age of 5, friends are everything. You play together, share (mostly) toys and build relationships. The Liverpool Festival has become such an arena. Here people meet who may have never seen each other before, but who during the days in Gjøvik become best friends because they share the same, unwavering love for a club from Merseyside.

A 5-year-old can run in a ring for hours without getting tired. We at the Liverpool Festival also have the same energy, we are only five years old and far from grown up.

Have you seen a 5-year-old who doesn't get his way? Or someone who gets an unexpected ice cream? The emotional swings are enormous. This is us and you in a nutshell. There are tears in your eyes when You'll Never Walk Alone echoes throughout the festival area, and euphoric joy when an old hero who you may have only seen in a red suit on a TV screen, perhaps in a betting game, sits down at your table for a chat over a beer.

A nice and sociable teenager

A 5-year-old can run in a circle for hours without getting tired. We at Liverpool Festival also have the same energy, we are only five years old and far from grown up. It is still fun to make a festival, and anything that is fun gives energy. When we are five years old, there are really no problems, at least none that we cannot solve. We have unwavering faith in our own abilities and are reluctant to ask for help when a task becomes insurmountable. Fortunately, there are some adults who can give good advice and help us.

Just like the 5-year-old who is about to start school and learn even more, the Liverpool Festival has an exciting future ahead of it. We will also learn more and gain experiences that will equip us to grow further and eventually become a pleasant and sociable teenager. The foundation has been laid, we have learned to walk (and run), and we have made many best friends who are happy to come and play with us. Now it is about building on the unique unity that has made Gjøvik a red epicenter in Norway.

Are you coming to us for the fifth time?

We know that there are many out there who have been with us all the way and who are also returning for their fifth festival. We think that is extra cool and want to give them a little attention during the Liverpool Festival 2026. We have the overview but so that we don't have to go through all the lists from four years of festival, it is easier for you to send us info by clicking on the poster below.
