A rather impressive line-up of Liverpool legends are set to take over Gjøvik, ready to share stories, sign autographs and celebrate the local community with loads of fans. While the legends are a big draw, we are keen for the festival to be more than just a place to see and hear former Liverpool players.

It's great to have these big names in Gjøvik, but the most important thing is the meetings between people. Meeting like-minded people and being able to sit and chat over a beer with a legend as if you were old acquaintances reinforces our philosophy that we are one big family, all with hearts that beat for LFC!

For the 2026 anniversary year, we've put together a squad that spans decades of success. The future legends have collected plenty of silverware at Anfield and in their own trophy cabinets. They have a combined 1,235 appearances, 252 goals and 202 assists. They have won the league, the FA Cup, the League Cup and of course conquered Europe on several occasions.

Legends of the Year

One of the biggest names making the trip is none other than John Barnes . The man who enchanted The Kop with his elegance and technique in the 80s and 90s is one of the most sought-after legends among past festival attendees. With John on board, we're guaranteed some great stories, football analysis and maybe a verse or two from "World in Motion".

Midfield general Gary McAllister , who became an unlikely hero in the 2001 treble-winning season, is also back. "The Great Dane", Jan Mølby , returns. The Dane who left his mark on both the Red Hearts and the history books with his clever passing foot.

David Fairclough , the original "Supersub", returns to meet the supporters. He was our very first booking and was at our very first festival. Sammy Lee is undoubtedly a friend of the festival and someone we always hang out with when we go to Liverpool. An exceptionally nice guy with lots of stories to tell from an impressive career, both as a player and manager.

Should you wear good shoes?

How do you get to the city, where is the festival area, where are the accommodation options, and should you wear good shoes to get around Gjøvik?

The festival area itself is beautifully located by Lake Mjøsa, just a 3-minute walk from the city center. From the bus station, where both buses and trains bring people to the white city by Lake Mjøsa, it takes 6 minutes if you have a slightly heavy bag. The hotels are located in the city center, and for those of you who choose the festival camp, you should calculate a pleasant 12-minute walk down to the city center. If you choose the camper parking, it is only a stone's throw to the festival area. In short, no one should have to wear out their sneakers when moving between locations during the Liverpool Festival.

Are you going to attend the supporter dinner? You will find it at the Grand Hotel, while Livergirls ONLY takes place at the Strand Hotel, just 450 meters from the festival area. English breakfast is served at Brygga in Gjøvik harbor, and as you've probably already noticed, it's also within comfortable walking distance!

Train, car, plane, boat, bike or swimming?

We are of course incompetent, but we believe that Gjøvik may be the navel of the world, at least during these three days of festival in the city. If you have booked a place at a hotel or a festival camp, go to this page to find the address.

If you live close to the Lake of Mjøsa, it is also possible to swim to the festival area.

Regardless of which mode of transport you plan to use, you will eventually end up in Gjøvik. Trains from Oslo S take about 2 hours, you can also choose a train to Lillehammer or Moelv and take a bus to Gjøvik. If you are coming via Gardermoen, we recommend the airport bus to Gjøvik (about 90 minutes) or the train to Moelv and then by bus to Gjøvik.

If you are driving to the festival, simply turn on your GPS, find the address and shorten the drive with good music at the facility. If you live in the Mjøs area, it is also possible to swim to the festival area. If you do, we will be ready with a towel. We recommend starting in Lillehammer to get the most out of the trip. Good luck!

Welcome!

We warmly welcome all supporters to three magical days in Gjøvik! A weekend that will be about fellowship with other supporters from home and abroad, meet&greets with Liverpool legends, supporter shops, good food, good drinks and guests with close ties to Liverpool FC. .....and of course live music!
